Poker chips come in all shapes and sizes, colours and materials from clay chips to composite chips and for the more adventurous players even in
chocolate. The poker chip in some shape or form has been around almost as long as the poker game itself. The chip came about to make keeping track of money easier. Also players found it easier to bet with a chip rather
than money, they could disassociate the real value of the bet they had just made with a chip. A chip is a lot easier to through on to the table than a handful of bank notes. Basic clay chips first used in the 1800's are the
oldest form of poker chip and today you can find brightly coloured and interestingly designed chips to play the various different poker games. There is nothing like the feel of a poker chip moving through your fingers while you
wait for the other players to finish their bet and when it is finally your turn, throwing it on the table and hearing the distinctive sound it makes on the table. |
